The National Training Awards celebrate businesses, organisations and individuals that achieve outstanding success through training and development.  The awards are sponsored by City & Guilds.

Colin Jackson congratulated all the winners, saying:  “It was a privilege to present the South West winners with their awards last night.  Just as in sport you can’t get anywhere without training, these winners have shown that training is essential to getting ahead in business and in turning personal ambitions into reality.  They deserve their success.  Congratulations.”

The chair of the South West judging panel, Martin Norman, said:  “Congratulations are due to all winners from the South West, whose high quality achievements are to be proud of.  My hope is that these success stories will inspire many others to undertake training and to enter next year's awards with examples of how learning has transformed their lives and that of others.”

UK Skills Chief Executive, Simon Bartley, said the winners had shown the impact that carefully planned training could have when it was aimed at meeting specific organisational needs.

“Each of them has a story to tell about the specific benefits that their training has brought them, including:  increased productivity; reduced waste; improved customer satisfaction; increased sales.  They demonstrate that targeted training can boost a business’ bottom line.

“The individual winners provide a range of wonderful examples of the benefits that a personal investment in training can have.  They’ve achieved goals – discovered new ambitions – gained self-confidence and make a significant contribution to their communities.”
