Success Stories Sought for the 2009 National Training Awards

The 2009 National Training Awards are seeking stories of how training has transformed businesses, organisations and communities.

For more than two decades these annual Awards have celebrated organisations and individuals that demonstrate outstanding business and personal success through investment in training. They are run by UK Skills on behalf of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

The closing date for this year’s entries is Friday 24 April 2009.

UK Skills Chief Executive Simon Bartley said: “We’re after training success stories from organisations and individuals around the country. We want to hear how their investment in training has boosted productivity, reduced costs, fast-tracked a career, or improved a community’s employment opportunities.

“Entering the Awards provides organisations with an opportunity to benchmark their training and to receive independent recognition of its success. Many past entrants have even found the process of entering valuable as the Award’s framework is an excellent tool for evaluating training programmes.

“This year, more than ever, we need to hear about successful training. Many companies at this time will be tempted to save costs by cutting training budgets. But the experience of past winners has shown that well thought out training can bring big returns and in some cases save struggling businesses.”

Free information sessions about the Awards and how to enter are being held throughout the UK during February and March. For more information phone 0800 0191 475 or email info@nationaltrainingawards.com.
